A note on Windows SmartScreen. The current build is not yet code-signed, so Windows may show a "Windows protected your PC" warning. This is expected for small-publisher software. To proceed: click More info → Run anyway. Always verify the SHA-256 above before running. Code-signed releases are on our roadmap.

Installing

  1. Download the installer using the button above.
  2. Verify the SHA-256 checksum matches the value shown here.
  3. Double-click the .exe. If SmartScreen appears, choose More info → Run anyway.
  4. Follow the installer prompts.
  5. Connect your BROADSONIC unit via USB and launch ReadoutGUI.

  • OS: Windows 10 (1809+) or Windows 11, 64-bit
  • CPU: x64 processor, 2 cores or more
  • RAM: 4 GB minimum, 8 GB recommended
  • Disk: ~200 MB free
  • Connectivity: USB for hardware interface

What's new

  • New USB engine: acquisition runs in a dedicated background process using async USB transfers — no more dropped samples when the UI is busy.
  • Lock-free shared-memory pipeline: samples flow straight from USB into a shared ring buffer.
  • Hardware-accelerated plots: time-domain and FFT views use OpenGL by default for smoother updates at high sample rates.
  • More accurate live MSPS readout via rolling average.

Compatibility

  • Requires firmware version with 8-byte USB headers — needed to ensure correct data alignment.
  • Firmware with expanded FIFO (commit b5c5021 or later) will enable true 10 MSPS throughput. Without expanded FIFO there will be hardware-side loss.
